๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฟ Caras de Cayo: Portraits of Belize

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the environment and the spirit of the natural world. As a child, I went to the woods to experience, learn and explore. It was the beginning of my journey to โ€œseeโ€ nature. Two decades later, my quest to explore the natural world brought me to the rainforests of the Cayo district in Belize where I learned about natural healing remedies from a Mayan shaman.

As an environmentalist, my goal is to explore and understand the wonderful complexities of the planet. As an artist, my goal is to visually capture the essence of the environment, to reveal hidden qualities of character and to better understand the world around us.

A two-part collection of environmental portraits featuring a diversity of native Belizeans form a series designed to provoke questions concerning identity, preservation and respect.
